Lancely v1.0 is live at lance-ly.com. Free tier, 14-day Pro trial, real UAE VAT support. If you've been following along on Discord or the Foxory roadmap, this is the moment we've been pointing at.
Here's what actually shipped — and, just as importantly, what we deliberately didn't.
What's in v1.0
- Client directory with TRN, multi-contact, and branded record cards.
- Quotation builder with templates, line items, and one-click conversion to invoice.
- UAE VAT-compliant invoices — proper Tax Invoice formatting, TRN fields, VAT itemisation.
- Multi-currency invoicing — AED first-class, USD/EUR/GBP supported.
- Project tracking with status, deadlines, and per-project invoice history.
- Free tier for getting started, with a 14-day Pro trial automatically activated on sign-up.
What it costs
Free tier: 1 client, 3 invoices per month, full UAE VAT support — enough to actually run a small freelance practice. Pro: $9.99/month or $79.99/year (works out to ~$6.67/month annual). No 'enterprise' tier with hidden pricing, no per-seat games.
What we cut
We had a long list of features that looked reasonable in planning and unreasonable when we got close to shipping. A few that got cut from v1.0:
- An 'AI assistant' panel on every screen — sounded good in 2025, would have shipped late and added nothing meaningful for v1.0 users.
- Recurring invoices — coming next, but cutting them let us ship sooner.
- Time tracking — same logic. Will land in a focused way, not glued on.
- A marketplace for templates — we wrote the 'won't do' list on the Foxory blog and meant it.
What's next
Lancely Mobile (iOS + Android) is in active development — same focused workspace, in your pocket. Recurring invoices, time tracking, and a client portal are queued behind it. We'll keep the Recently Shipped strip on foxory.net updated as each lands.
And Product #2 is starting to take shape. If you want to be among the first to see it, the 'Stay in the loop' form at the bottom of foxory.net is the way.
Thank you
To the early beta testers in the Discord, the freelancers who let us interview them, and everyone who replied to our questions with longer answers than we deserved — Lancely is sharper because of you. The hard part starts now.
